Topic: Poster
Project Date: Summer 2019
Project Description: The Social Norms Theory posits that social norms represent a fundamental concept in the field of sociology with notable implications. The norms in question preside over the codification of right and wrong within societies, thereby delineating the categorization of conduct that is considered to be morally and ethically appropriate. Individuals hold robust convictions pertaining to social norms, and those who transgress them occasionally encounter societal ostracism or alienation.
Project Justification: Women face rights’ violation everywhere and every day. However, regardless of all the progress that women have achieved, sexism and harassment still make an appearance both in the streets and workplace. But I think women have the right to live up to their own ideology. I want to change the perception of the society how they are thinking about this matter and raise awareness through our project this is why I chose this subject

Why did I choose this subject and how it is related with the theme?
My topic in this project is “women’s problems in the present society”.
Women are present in almost every field of human activities: Health, education, domestic life, career, human rights. Partially or completely, these problems exist in every corner of the world. Millions of women face these challenges every day. Patriarchal societies force women into little boxes and restrict their opportunities. Moreover, this topic is quite complicated and it is related to many other challenge’s women have to fight against. Undervalued interests and ideas are one of the main women’s problems in the present society women confront every single day. There are about 80 states worldwide where progress on girls’ education has halted. The wage gap, no work after marriage, domestic violence and harassment makes the image more horrible. At larger extent, women face rights’ violation everywhere and every day. However, regardless all the progress that women has been achieved, sexism and harassment still make an appearance both in the streets and workplace. But I think women have the rights to live up to their own ideology. I want to change the perception of the society how they are thinking about this matter and raise awareness through our project this is why I chose this subject.
My Role in this project:
In this project I worked alongside with my team member. I did the research part for the team and portrait the model of the present women of the society. Throughout this research I came to know how horrible and terrible challenges are women facing in their daily life and tried to present it through our poster. As I was researching, one of my room-mate shared me her incident how she faced sexism on her job interview. The HR quoted “As you are married so in near future you will have baby which can be a factor for this job. So, I think you should reconsider the position”. Later they hired a male candidate for that position while she was more qualified for the position. And in another incident on of my friend was harassed in the bus and later she told me about the occurrence as well as how nobody came for to help also blamed her for dressing sense. In my research I tried to find every aspect how women are facing the difficulties in our societies to live an equal life. My research helped the team to create an understandable poster for all the audience. After completing my research, I helped my groupmate with the ideas on taking picture for our group project and I portrait as the victim. We tried to make our poster expressive and bold that audience can relate and understand the scenario to raise awareness.
Principles of PR that we use in this project:
We applied R.A.C.E process for making this project. This is the best theory that actually helped us to create our awareness poster campaign.
The R.A.C.E process stands for,R= Research
A= Action
C= Communication
E= Evaluation
Research:Through research we collect all the information and analyzed it systematically and delivered to our audiences that they can understand and make their best choices about the information.
Action:To achieve the research goal we needed to take the action. After the research we get to know what is the best decision we need to take to do things right.
Communication:helped us to deliver the message to the concerned audience. It helps to fulfilled the aim of the project.
Evaluation:This is the part which helped us to evaluate the whole project. By this we were able to analyze what did and did not work in the research, action and communication process in our PR project. We did not face any issues in our project by implying this theory and this process worked perfectly for our scenario.

Learning and Outcome (Self-Reflection)
I was introduced to the RACE concept along my educational journey, and it gave me a thorough understanding of the core ideas of liberty, justice, and the rule of law. I now have a solid foundation of information that I can use in many other areas of my life thanks to this. Additionally, I've learned that I have intrinsic qualities like leadership and organization that can be developed and refined via practice and experience. Overall, my educational experience has given me priceless knowledge and abilities that I can use in both my personal and professional life, allowing me to develop into a more successful and productive person.
